Odawara Castle is a historic castle located in the city of Odawara, Japan. It was originally built in the 15th century and was the stronghold of the powerful Hojo clan during the Sengoku period. The castle has been designated as a National Historic Site and is known for its beautiful architecture and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
One of the unique features of Odawara Castle is its reconstructed tenshu, or keep, which is a six-story castle tower that offers visitors a glimpse into the castle's rich history. The tenshu houses a museum with exhibits on the history of the castle and the surrounding area, as well as a panoramic observation deck that provides stunning views of Mount Fuji and Sagami Bay.
In addition to the tenshu, the castle grounds also feature a number of historic gates, walls, and buildings, as well as a beautiful Japanese garden. Visitors can enjoy exploring the castle's many features and learning about its rich history through the various exhibits and displays.
Admission to Odawara Castle is 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for children. The castle is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last admission at 4:30 p.m.) every day except December 31 and January 1.
